Our style is: inclusive, warm, open, nonjudgmental, spiritual. These are just a few of the words that describe what we do best at St. Joseph. Also, we tend to be laid back and informal. You can expect to see people of all ages wearing anything from jeans and casual shirts to suits, ties, and dresses. Dress however you feel comfortable as you enjoy the service.
One word would sum it up: Relationships. Our focus is on developing relationships with one another and especially with Jesus Christ. The people of St. Joseph church offer everyone the opportunity to be part of our caring family. We believe that there’s more to life than meets the eye. There’s something incredible that happens when a person asks Jesus to be part of their life. There’s a warm feeling from deep within and a difference in your heart, but more importantly, a higher purpose for life. We would like everyone to experience this hope and the love of Jesus Christ. It’s our desire to see people make that choice for themselves.
What do we offer?
For a growing church, St. Joseph offers a large variety of "small group" activities and programs for all ages. This is where we can get to know each other and most importantly, Jesus in a closer way. Our "small groups" recognize each person as a treasure who has much to give.

We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before the service starts to allow us time to acquaint you with our building and our service. You will be greeted by someone from our staff near the entrance of the church. Our Greeters will supply you with information, answer your questions and escort you to the Sanctuary. We want to make your visit stress free, so you may enjoy the service. If you are new to Episcopal liturgies, our Sunday Bulletin will lead you through the service with prayers and hymns listed according to the Book of Common Prayer (black) and the Hymnal (red). Books are provided in all pews. Ask questions – someone will have the answer or be able to find it for you.
Everyone is welcome at God's table to receive the Holy Eucharist when visiting the Episcopal Church. When you kneel at the Altar Rail, place one hand over the other and receive the bread in your open palm, then lift it to your mouth. Take the chalice of wine by the base and guide it to your lips. If kneeling is difficult for you, simply stand. You may receive both the bread and wine, or just one – the bread or the wine. Or you may hold the bread in your hand and the chalice bearer will dip it in the wine and place it on your tongue.
Small children whose parents are not ready to have them start receiving the Holy Eucharist (they are eligible by virtue of their Baptism), are invited to come to the Altar rail and kneel, or stand, to receive a blessing. Cross your arms on your chest as a sign that you do not wish to receive the Holy Eucharist .
We have a great nursery with a professional nursery attendant on Sunday mornings from 9:15 am until 12:00 pm. From infant to 5 years of age, you may rest assured that your child will be in good hands and well taken care of. Also, for those parents wishing their children to be involved in worship, we would encourage you to bring them to ether service.

We believe that God loves every human being and placed within each person a homing beacon, a longing in the soul to have a relationship with God. Through Jesus Christ, God became visible and totally accessible. Through Jesus we find our way home to God. We enjoy the gift of salvation – we are saved from all of the unsatisfying substitutes for God that the world offers. Life in Christ is a rich experience, full of joy, challenges, reality, and deepening union with God. Our fundamental faith statement is expressed in the Creed which we proclaim together when we gather as people of God.
Mother Michele is our new rector. Her first Sunday among us was Nov. 23, 2008. Her passion in the church is the formation of faith in the church. It is the natural way she combines her education background with her love of the stories of scripture. Michele has opened the doors of the church to our children and youth in new and exciting ways. She also brings with her an awareness of the mystery and awe of the world we live in – God’s world. Everyone from the youngest among us to the eldest is invited to participate in whatever ways are possible as we gather around God’s table. Our liturgy, she insists, is what we have to offer this world. Through our worship together we can renew and restore our relationship with God and each other.
Senior Warden Rod McLenon and his wife, Barbara, are transplants from Kansas and have been a part of the St. Joseph family for over thirty years. Rod is part of a caring group who warmly welcomes anyone who would like to visit St. Joseph.
Deacon Melanie was appointed by our Bishop to serve as our deacon in May. Melanie brings with her 16 years of experience in Hispanic Ministry in the Episcopal Church. She was born in Cuba and is fully bilingual. She is a diocesan Deacon, which means the Bishop can utilize her many gifts where they are needed in our diocese. She believes in fulfilling her diaconal call by getting people out of the pews to do ministry in the community, outside the church walls. Melanie’s main ministry is as Deacon-in-Charge of St. Clare’s Jubilee Ministry Center for the homeless and working poor in Denver.
