to Saint Joseph Episcopal Church web site. By way of introduction, the people of St. Joseph strive to be:

1)  A prayerful and God-centered people in all our interactions and decisions.
2)  An open and inclusive people – a house of prayer for all persons.
3)  A people dedicated to forming strong, healthy relationships with God, self, others and creation.
4)  A people who shape and nurture a safe and sacred environment in which reconciliation and healing may occur.
In living out this shared understanding, we place sustained emphasis on spiritual growth, service to others, deepening our sense of community and sharing freely and generously with others what we have been given.
An average of 140 of us worship together each Sunday. There is a spaciousness among us which allows for relative anonymity  as well as intimacy, and an acceptance of others for whom they are and as they are in their life journey. We are small enough to have a sense of interconnectedness and yet large enough to have substantial opportunities for various ways of participating in the life of the church.

This project is sponsored by our Diocese.  A light lunch will be provided.

Upcoming Youth Group Events: Thus far we have planned to see Harry Potter on July 16th and have a lock-in that evening at the church. In August we plan to attend a Colorado Rockies game on August 23rd which is a Sunday. The game starts at 1:10pm. After the game there is a concert by Mercy Me.  These permission slips will be forthcoming.

Vacation Bible School: The weather is getting warmer and our thoughts are turning to summer.  Vacation Bible School will be August 3-6; this will be a change for us as it will be an all day program.  I am recruiting help from as little as part of a day to the whole 4 days.  Our theme this year is Harry Potter. Due to the full day nature of the program there will be a cost for each student, with scholarship money available.  For more information on helping or having your child attend please see Angel Jung or leave a message for me with Kate in the main office. Thanks!
See                                 link for registration and additional information.

Day of Reflection: On August 29, 2009, the Colorado Episcopal Foundation is offering a Day of Reflection at Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown.  If you would like to attend, you can RSVP to the office at St. Joseph – 303-985-7170 – by July 26th and we will RSVP to for the event as a group.

Faith Formation needs your help with our children…Calling all storytellers, craft enthusiasts, and second person adults…If you fit any or all of these categories we need YOU! Beginning in September and running through May we are going to take our Children’s Faith Formation in a different direction.  Gone are the days where a few dedicated folks remained buried in the bottom of the church building for weeks, months and years on end.  We want ministry with our children to be a joyful occasion, which is why we are inviting everyone to participate.  Please sign up for what you can, remembering that it is all of our responsibilities to educate our children in loving God.  The stories are already written – Godly Play materials and many of the materials are already here, can be borrowed from the Diocese or can be created anew.  I have lots of resources for craft activities to help as well. Sign up sheets are posted in the Parish Hall – it is never to early to make a difference.  On behalf of the children at St. Joseph – thanks!  MM+
